7 Things Healthy People Do Daily

Date 18 Apr, 2017

It’s still fresh into 2017, which means that the New Year, new you mentality is hopefully still going strong. Living a healthy lifestyle takes time, dedication, and a lot of discipline and self-control. Reports have shown it takes 21 days to break or build a habit. So we have here 7 habits that will help lead you to a healthy lifestyle.

Don’t skip breakfast.

It’s crucial to remember that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It ignites your metabolism and stops you from overeating later in the day. Also, studies have shown that adults who eat a healthy breakfast are more productive in the workplace, and children who eat breakfast score higher on tests. If you’re not one for a big meal first thing in the morning, than keep it simple with a banana, fruit, or granola, just don’t miss breakfast.

Meal prep.

Meal prepping saves you money and time in the long run. Make sure that you take the time to write down your goals, if that’s you want to bulk up or lose weight, cut carbs, etc. Meal prepping allows you to maintain control.

Drink more water.

Water has countless benefits for your body. Staying hydrated should be on the top of your priority list everyday; especially since studies have shown that drinking enough water can lead to weight loss. Drinks with a lot of sugar are connected to obesity and type 2 diabetes. There’s plenty of ways to spice up with your water if you’re not a fan, add some fruit in it like, lemons, limes, cucumbers or even oranges.

Make time to exercise.

Making sure you take time for yourself to keep your body active and moving is something that all healthy people do. Why? Because they know that a body that stays in motion will decrease health risks later on down the road. Whether it’s weightlifting, cardio, stretching, or even just walking, doing just 30 minutes of this everyday will help keep you living a happy and healthy life.

Are you constantly on social media or checking your email? We’re all guilty of getting caught up surfing on Instagram or Facebook but we have to remember to take some time to re-connect with ourselves. Set aside a time to log off and put your phone down, you’ll see how much more time you have for other things, like reading, meditating or exercising.

Get enough sleep.

This cannot be stressed enough, a good nights sleep enhances your mood, keeps your memory and focus sharp, and it lowers your risk of heart disease. It even helps you lose weight. We suggest that you try and get 7-9 hours of sleep a night. The best way is to set a schedule, and try to go to sleep and wake up at the same time everyday.

Don’t be afraid to lift weights.

Strength training will help turn your body fat into muscle mass. When you lift weights, you’ll shred more calories even when you’re sitting at your desk or on the couch. Strength training also help you lean out, keep your heart strong, and build your bones. Not sure where to start? Check out Helthee and we’ll help you get started.
