This New Tech is Helping Fight Child Obesity

Date 06 Jan, 2017

The Think & Learn Smart Cycle is a new piece of fitness equipment, which Fisher-Price unveiled at CES 2017. It is a bicycle themed video game controller that allows your child to use his/her cycling and steering on the bicycle "controller" to maneuver his/her character through a game. The parental dashboard allows parents to see what their child has learned through the game, so it can be a mental workout too not only physical.

Childhood obesity in the United States has hit a peak recently. 1 in 3 children are overweight or obese. This makes us excited for the Think & Learn Smart Cycle for the simple fact that it can drastically change these numbers and help fight childhood obesity. Only 1 in 3 children currently are physically active everyday. With this new piece of technology it can possibly start a trend on others coming

Reports state that American children spend 7.5 hours in front of a TV daily!

A 2015 study showed that 96 percent of children use mobile devices and also starting at a young age. Being born before this new generation, you more than likely spent your childhood outside, playing sports or just being active. We're glad to see Fisher-Price are combining games, exercise and mobile technology to help fight this issue.
